Common Questions

What does a typical session look like?

The first intro call is 20-30 minutes long. Each couples session thereafter is 75 minutes long.

Sessions are currently held online (via Google Meet).

Can therapy actually help us? We’ve been stuck for so long.

Yes, it can help—even if you have been stuck for decades together. Many couples wait until they're in crisis to reach out, but it’s never too late to learn new ways of relating. In therapy, we don’t just talk about problems—we work actively to understand the deeper patterns and build tools that can change the dynamic between you.

What if my partner is hesitant or doesn’t want to come?

That’s very common. Often one person is more ready than the other. You can let your partner know that therapy isn’t about blame—it’s about creating a space where both of you feel heard, understood, and supported. If needed, we can start with one of you and invite the other in when they’re ready.

How many sessions will it take?

It depends on your goals and how deep the issues run. I usually recommend 1–2 sessions for assessment, followed by 3–6 sessions of focused work. Some couples need fewer, some continue longer. We’ll check in regularly to see how things are going and whether therapy is helping.
