Hi. I am Tapas Dwivedi, a Relationship Counsellor based in Berlin.
I help couples grow from their relationship challenges and become happier and stronger together. I specialise in the method of Relational Life Therapy (RLT), pioneered by world-renowned therapist Terry Real.
Relational Therapy is for any two people in a relationship who:

My approach focuses on creating a safe, judgement-free space for a couple, understanding the root of their conflicts and making progressive shifts in behaviours that lead to a more satisfying relationship.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck and disconnected — I’ve been there myself. That experience fuels my work and helps me easily connect with clients on a personal level. You can expect gentle, firm and honest conversations in our sessions.

My work combines 2 popular methods of couples therapy: Gottman Method, built on the most comprehensive couples research ever done, and the deep, transformative work of Relational Life Therapy (RLT). This means you get both actionable strategies and long-lasting shifts in how you relate.

I was born in India, and now live in Berlin with my partner who is from Canada. Having lived and worked across cultures, I understand how differences in background and communication can either divide or enrich a relationship. I help couples turn those differences into strengths.

What is Relational Life Therapy?
Relational Life Therapy (RLT) is a bold, transformative approach to couples work developed by renowned therapist and author Terry Real.
Unlike traditional therapies that focus solely on communication skills or insight, RLT dives deeper—challenging power imbalances, calling out toxic patterns with compassion, and helping partners reconnect with honesty and accountability.
It’s a direct yet deeply respectful method that blends psychological insight with direct coaching, making it especially effective for modern relationships.

How it works
1. Intro Call
We begin with a short introductory call (20-30 min) to get to know each other. You share what’s been going on in your relationship what's your core challenge. I’ll explain how I work, and you can ask any questions about me or my approach.
2. Assessment
The assessment gives us a clear understanding of what's the core pattern of your conflicts, and why you are stuck in them. We look at your current behavioural dynamics, and when helpful, bring in your individual and family histories to see how old patterns may be showing up between you. This may take 1-3 sessions.
3. Continued Work
Once we have clarity, we begin the work of helping you step out of outdated roles or coping strategies, and into a more connected, conscious way of relating. We build new relational skills—around communication, boundaries, repair, and emotional presence—so you both feel more seen, safe, and fulfilled in each other's eyes.
